Flowers are fantastic motives - they have those marvelous organic shapes, the can reflect light or absorb it - or you can shine light through them to exagerate their colors. The classic way of photographing flowers are from a little distance, with as much as possible of the flower in focus, but I prefer moving closer.. Not so close that it turns to a scientific documentation photograph, but close enough that much of the flower is lost in a wash of soft blurry and the flower turns into a landscape of shapes and forms, horizons and details.
